The Challenge: Sam’s Club was opening its first-ever Scan & Go-only store in Grapevine, TX, marking a major milestone in retail innovation. The challenge was to create a grand opening event that not only celebrated this moment but also engaged the local community in a meaningful and unforgettable way. Sam’s Club wanted to generate hype, excitement, and brand awareness, while also educating members about the future of frictionless shopping through Scan & Go technology. 

The Big Idea
A Grand Opening That Reached New Heights. To mark this historic moment, we designed an immersive, multi-touchpoint experience that culminated in a dazzling, fully customized drone show. This wasn’t just a launch—it was a celebration of innovation, technology, and community.

The highlight of the night? A breathtaking aerial performance, where drones painted the Texas sky with stunning animations, from the Grapevine city logo to the Scan & Go technology in action, bringing the future of shopping to life in the most unexpected way.



The Experience
Drone Show Spectacular – 300+ drones took flight in a choreographed visual story, showcasing Sam’s Club’s commitment to innovation, while incorporating community-driven elements like local icons and brand messaging.
Family Movie Night & Mobile Café – Attendees enjoyed an outdoor movie screening, complemented by the Sam’s Club Mobile Café, where they experienced exclusive product sampling and Scan & Go demos.
Interactive Product Experiences – Guests had the opportunity to explore exclusive product activations, giveaways, and engaging brand touchpoints, all designed to reinforce the convenience and efficiency of Scan & Go.
Community Celebration – A blend of live entertainment, family-friendly activities, and local partnerships ensured that this was more than just a store opening—it was a major community event.
